Guild Code of Conduct

Posted by MóónchildMarch 20, 2009 at 11:15 am
Guild Code of Conduct

First of all let me say that this guild has got members of all ages which means we want everyone to enjoy their time playing! Therefore we require you to have a mature attitude. We want players that are not afraid to wipe! Who constantly seek challenges and are eager to learn new boss encounters. We want players that are committed to helping this guild progress and feel like they can contribute with something to our guild community!

Guild Rules

  • Players must not spam guild chat or use offensive language.
  • Any problems with another guild member should be brought forward to either a GM or an officer without to being brought onto the guild chat channel.
  • All players need help with instances or gear, so if you can help in any way please do (It may be you who needs help one day). If you can help with mats it would be greatly appreciated.
  • No Pugging Raids that are normally scheduled for the guild and not cleared. This includes all Naxx raids, VoA and OS. (It is normally ok to Pug Heroic VoA or OS only after 10 man is cleared, check with an officer).

Raiding Rules

  • All players must be fully enchanted/gemmed. We do have enchanters and Jc's in guild that dont expect payment and will help out with mats wherever possible.
  • All required AddOns must be loaded before the raid.
  • You must be fully repaired and bring the correct Flasks/Potions/Food and Regeants with you to each raid.
  • You must know all the boss encounters prior to raiding. Websites exist to help you prepare, e.g. TankSpot.
  • All players must be fully prepared to stay the full duration of the raid, if you do not feel comfortable with the raid schedule then please do not accept the invitation.
  • Invites for raids will start 15 minutes prior to the raid begining (If you are going to be late you must inform the Raid Leader, or an online officer as soon as possible).
  • Players must not spam raid chat or use offensive language in anyway this includes the /s channel. Any person who does so may result in being removed from the raid.
  • No linking of DPS meters unless requested by Raid Leader.
  • If you have an issue with another raid member or with the raid then please speak to the Raid Leader before or after the raid.
  • You must be aware of the Loot distribution and Priority System. Please see the forums for information on this. This system is strictly enforced.
  • When loot is being handed out please whisper the loot master when told to do so for that item, any whispers before this may result in you being overlooked.
  • While in a raid, players who fail to perform to a noticeable standard could result in the Raid Leader replacing them prior to calling the raid.
  • Any players who feel that their internet connection is not running smoothly which may result in raid difficulties should inform the Raid Leader prior to the raid time.
  • I would also like to point out that an accept from you on the calandar is not a confirmation that you have a guaranteed spot in the raid, you should check the calandar regualry to see what your status is.
  • Raid invites are given to players deemed Raid Ready by an officer. Players not flagged as Raid Ready must talk to an officer. We normally require players to undertake a test-run or a DPS test before being added to the list. For further details see the Raid Readyness thread in the forums.

Penalties will now be introduced for those who do not turn up for a raid but have accepted the invite, and for those who are late for a raid (without informing the Raid leader), Players who leave during the raid without a replacement, if you are not fully repaired and have flasks, food etc with you and any other offence at the discretion of the Raid Leader/GM or an Officer.

Penalties are as follows :-

  • First offence - Warning
  • Second offence - EP reduction equal to the amount gained in a scheduled raid
  • Final offence - Your status within the guild is discussed

EP will also be rewarded to those who do raid, who are online in time for the raid to begin, those who help farm mats for flasks, pots etc for the guild bank and to those who respec for a raid (only if this is not your main spec).

Please see the Loot Distribution and EPGP section in the forums for more details.

Please note:- All members are required to adhere to these rules and suggest you use common sense and show maturity when raiding with other guilds.

Thank you for taking the time to read this Code of Conduct, any suggestions will be appeciated

Loot Distribution and the EPGP Loot System.

Introduction

Knights of Elysium uses the EPGP system for loot. This System was designed to overcome the issues of the common DKP System. EPGP stands for Effort Points/Gear Points. Effort Points (EP) quantify the effort each member put towards the, hopefully common, guild goals. Gear Points (GP) quantify what loot each member got back in return. Loot priority is computed as the quotient of the two; priority (PR) is equal to EP/GP. The person with the higher PR gets the first say on loot.

From the above, the more effort you put the more gear you receive. As a matter of fact, the gear you receive is proportional to the effort you put. EPGP is based on this simple principle, but there are some complexities that need to be dealt with which will be covered below.

EPGP standings are obtained using the EPGP Addon:

A webpage with the standings is here:
EPGP Standings (may not be up-to-date)

Effort Point Awards

In KoE we award Effort Points as Follows:
  • 15 mins Raiding = 1000 EP
  • 15 mins Standby = 1000 EP
  • 15 mins Farming = 250 EP (must be verified by an officer and items put in GB)

If you are on standby whisper one of the officers for details of how to get your EP awarded, you must be online but not necessarily  logged as your main. EP Awards are normally announced in guild chat. Please whisper an officer if there is an issue.

Loot Distribution

The way we use EPGP in raids is as follows:

  1. Loot Master Announces Item in Raid Chat
  2. All those who need the item as MAIN-SPEC can /w the Raid Leader for the item
  3. The Loot Master gives a 5 second count-down after reannouncing
  4. The Loot Master looks at the EPGP priority of everyone who whispered and assigns to the highest priority player
  5. That player immediately is assigned GP for the item.

If noone whispers for main-spec for an item then:

  1. Loot Master asks players to roll for off-spec in /raid
  2. Highest Roll wins item
  3. No GP are awarded for item

If nobody wants as off-spec then Item is assigned to DE fro Guild Bank

Decay

In order to award recent effort more than past effort, which in effect avoids PR hoarding for veterans and enables new coming and dedicated members of a guild to be awarded properly, EPGP supports a decay mechanism. Decay simply removes a chunk of EP and GP from the totals, effectively leaving PR unchanged. For example with a decay of 10% applied each week, for each 7 days that pass your effort's rewards get diminished by 10%. The effort you put 10 weeks ago will only be worth 34.8% of what it did when you received it ( (1-0.1) 10 ).

In KoE we do a 10% decay after each raid.

Priming the system

A loot system should behave reasonably not only in its steady state but also when new members join a guild and the guild's efforts. For this reason some extra parameters need to be setup.

Base GP

Base GP adds a certain GP to each member of a guild. This means the final GP of each member is: GP = BaseGP + RealGP. All PR computations happen on GP not BaseGP or RealGP. Decay also applies to GP as a whole but it only diminishes RealGP. As such GP can never be lower than BaseGP. For example, KoE has a BaseGP = 100 and RealGP = 10. Applying a 10% decay will result in RealGP = 0 for a total of 100 GP.

The Base GP for KoE is 100

Base GP prevents new recruits or long time inactive members from trumping your dedicated members just because their GP is 0 and thus their PR infinite.

GP of Epic Items

In KoE, we assign GP on a simplified system as follows:
  • 10 man Epic Raid Items (excluding T7) = 75 GP
  • 10 man T7 Items = 100 GP
  • 25 man Epic Raid Items (excluding T7) = 100 GP
  • 25 man T7.5 Items = 125 GP
  • Ulduar 10 Man Items = 100 GP
  • Ulduar 25 Man Items = 125 GP
  • T8 Items = 150 GP
  • T9 Items = 175 GP
  • ICC Items = 185 GP
  • T10 Items = 195 GP
